Dan Barry of Turner fishes Thursday on the first day of open water fishing on Lake Auburn. “Always on opening day,” Barry said about dropping a line in Lake Auburn. “I have caught some nice fish through the years on this lake,” he said. While hoping to catch a landlocked salmon, Barry said the morning was more of a chance to spend some time clearing his head before undergoing open heart surgery April 9. “I’m trying not to think about it,” he said.
