WORCESTER, Mass. — Lauren Jakobs of Naples has become a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. A member of the class of 2022 at Assumption University, Jakobs was inducted during the 2020-21 academic year.

Psi Chi was founded with the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduates, of sophomore, junior, or senior academic standing, who major or minor in psychology. Inductees must have completed nine semester hours of psychology courses, rank in the top 35 percent of their class, and have a minimum grade point average of 3.25.

Members of Psi Chi have the opportunity to submit scholarly articles to the Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research, apply for research grants, and attend and present at regional and national conferences.
