To the Editor:
I have never written a letter of this kind before but felt compelled to do so for this matter.
The town of Woodstock has the opportunity to buy and permanently conserve the Buck’s Ledge property on North Pond, already a popular hiking area with a new trail to Moody Mountain and a new trail planned to go to Woodstock School. This area is also used for hunting and snowmobiling. It is so important for kids and adults to have access to beautiful areas like this to stay active, learn about nature and the importance of our environment.
I urge all Woodstock residents to vote at this years town meeting on April 26 to authorize the town to use funds, already set aside for such purposes, toward the purchase of this land for use now and for generations to come. Happy trails!

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
