To the Editor:

This year we have a unique opportunity to purchase and preserve Buck’s Ledge by voting at this year’s town meeting on April 26 to authorize the town to use funds towards the purchase of this land for future generations to have access to.

Bucks Ledge trail is a family friendly hike that can be accessed year round. This land is also used for biking, hunting, skiing, and snowmobiling. We have hiked Bucks many times with our children, family, and friends throughout the years.

Additionally, conservation of this land, will continue to provide educational opportunities for our district’s students as they attend Woodstock Elementary School and the Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center. Our youth have had the opportunity to help build and maintain these trails though Oxford County Conservation Corps and projects such as “Pay it Forward”.

Article 6 of the town’s warrant asks approval to use the money presently in the dedicated land conservation account to support this purchase. Please consider supporting this article on April 26.

Hope to see you on the trails!
