Rose Marie (Harlow) Record Hersey

SOUTH PARIS – Rose Marie (Harlow) Record Hersey, 75, of South Paris, passed away on Friday April 23, 2021, at the Androscoggin Hospice House. She was born July 2, 1945 in Rumford, a daughter of Myra and Everard Harlow. She graduated Woodstock High School class of 1965.

Rose moved to Stoneham Mass. in 1965 were she worked in New England Memorial Hospital as a CNA. She moved back to Norway, and lived with her brother, Maynard, then later moved home to Bryant Pond.

She married Lawrence Record of South Paris and worked at Market Square Heath Care. Later she went to work at Gladding Paris Co., then opened a daycare in her home. She cared for many children in the 40 years she was a provider and loved working with the children and seeing them grow and learn. In 1996 she married Alban K. Hersey. They loved traveling, camping or just shopping.

She was predeceased in death by her mother and father; her first husband, Lawrence; and her brothers Myron W. Harlow, Harland E. Harlow, Maynard L. Harlow, and Robert Harlow.

She is survived by her husband, Albin Hersey; children Karen M. Smith and husband Jeff Smith of Florida, one son, Jeffrey M. Record and wife Wendy Record of Leeds; three grandchildren, Krystle M. Gunter, Joshua J. Smith, and Jeremy M. Record; three great-grandchildren, Kylie M. Gunter, Keira M. Gunter, and Brennan Gunter; her two sisters, Eva G. Buck and her husband Walter of Georgia, Marilyn J. Huston, and husband Wymann P. Huston of Bryant Pond; stepchildren Kenneth Hersey and wife Joy of West Virginia, Scott and wife Tanya Hersey of Springvale, John Hersey of Kennebunk, Brenda and husband Paul Fenderson of Wells, Paul and wife Tracy Hersey of Alfred, Brian Hersey of Biddeford and Joline and husband Ian Waldecker of South Portland; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren.
