We had numerous correct answers to last week’s Mystery Photo on outer Hotel Road in Auburn. Many also correctly guessed it was a memorial for someone who had died in the area. In a random drawing from all the entries, Mary Brushwein, of Auburn, was picked as the winner of a $20 Hannaford Supermarket gift card. She informed us that it is indeed a memorial. A good friend of hers, Matthew Smith, was killed in a motorcycle accident there in 2019. Dozens of his friends got together to put this memorial together using parts from the dump truck he drove and the handlebars of his motorcycle. He was a military veteran and active in the legion that provided the flag.
