NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group plans to hold its First Friday Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 4.
The reception will be held at the Main Street Gallery, 426 Main St. The gallery exhibits the work of fine artists and artisans living and working in Western Maine.
Melanie Tornberg of Norway and Bethel will be June’s featured artist. This exhibit will feature floral works that celebrate the colors and beauty of springtime gardens.
Tornberg began her artistic training as a child student with the art group, and she continued her education in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the University of New Hampshire with renowned painters John Laurent and John Hatch. For the past five years, she has served as the president of the art group.
Beginning in June, the Main Street Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
