Two men have been arrested at a New Hampshire hotel that was evacuated during a standoff, police said.

Brian Elliott, 30, came out of the Holiday Inn Express on Monday after several hours of communicating with police SWAT team officers and crisis negotiators, police said. Hotel guests had been evacuated.

Investigators, who found a firearm in the room, charged Elliott with being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon; falsifying evidence; resisting arrest; and drug possession. He also was charged with running from Goffstown police and pointing a gun at an officer during a traffic stop on Saturday.

Police said they also found a man in the woods near the hotel who had homemade explosive devices and metallic knuckles. Police said Anthony Cook, 21, had been called to the area by Elliott. Cook was charged with possession of an infernal machine, being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon, and loitering.

It wasn’t immediately known if either man had an attorney and phone numbers couldn’t be found for them.

Police also are investigating two other men who they said were called to the area by Elliott.
