NORWAY — The Norway Museum and Historical Society is pleased to announce that it will reopen to the public on June 1 and that there will be three special programs presented during the summer. The Society’s regularly scheduled days and times are Tuesdays 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. We ask the public to wear masks while in the building and we have set a limit of five visitors at a time.

In honor of Norway’s history as a major national manufacturer of snowshoes, throughout the summer there will be a new snowshoe exhibit on the Museum’s second floor. The Society has an impressive collection of art works created by local artists which will be displayed along with many new acquisitions. The special programs are on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and will be held through Zoom which you can access through the Society’s website at: www.norwayhistoricalsociety.org or by emailing the Society at: [email protected].

The program subjects and presenters are as follows:

June 15 – Shavey Noyes, born in Norway, a naturalist, mineralogist, writer and landscape artist. The talk will be presented by Bruce Watts, a member of the Society’s Board of Trustees.

July 13 – Joe Quinn Radio Programs, presented by Jim Phillips.

The mission of the Society is to bring people together to share, celebrate and learn about Norway’s heritage by collecting, caring for and exhibiting Norway’s historical treasures, by facilitating the collection of and research into family and local history and by providing programs that make history meaningful and engaging for people of all ages.
