Barry G. Valcourt

NORTHWOOD, N.H. – Barry G. Valcourt born July 27, 1977, in Lincoln, Maine, died tragically on May 8, 2021, in Northwood, N.H.

Barry’s greatest asset was his ability to live in the moment. He loved dancing, playing music, watching and playing sports (especially with his children), fishing, and video games. He was a storyteller, a lover, the life of the party, and although he was stubborn, he was humorous, lighthearted, agile and strong. He was a free spirit — often hitch-hiking to wherever he wanted to go including his jobs or to see friends that lived throughout Maine.

He attended Lewiston schools, and worked as a roofer for many years. In 2017 he fell 30 feet from a roof he was working on. In 2018 he suffered a traumatic brain injury which left him to face many physical and mental battles. Despite these challenges, his heart remained open and positive.

Barry is survived by his mother, Yvette Levasseur and two children, Madison Valcourt, daughter of Jennifer Wentzheimer; Lincoln Valcourt, son of Janassa Reed; also Kennedy Lampert, daughter of Janassa who he thought of as one of his own. He was predeceased by his lifelong friend, Matt Snow.

Barry was an advocate for HOPE. His wish was that all people struggling with addiction would find hope in recovery and never lose hope for life.

There will be no celebration of life at this time.
