NORWAY — As far back as Bryant Gurney can remember, American Legion Stone Smart Post 82 of Norway has been replacing the flags at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
This year, 544 flags were replaced. The old flags are dismantled and in a yearly ceremony by the Post, along with all flags collected throughout the year are burnt.
It is veterans honoring veterans. At this time of year, we honor those who have served our country. Thanks to the town of Norway for supplying the flags. A special thanks to Stuart Goodwin for his help, and most of all, thanks to the Post members who helped out.
