
Edith A. (Cox) Sampson
TURNER – Edith A. (Cox) Sampson, 86, a resident of Turner, passed away, Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at her home in Turner. She was born April 23, 1935 in Woodstock, the daughter of John E. and Jennie Lind (Silver) Cox, Sr. Edith attended schools in Woodstock. On Nov. 1, 1958 in South Woodstock, she married Wayne E. “Skip” Sampson. Edith worked through the years at Livermore Falls Shoe and Decosters. Edith loved to play Bingo and cards. She also enjoyed knitting, doing puzzles and solving word searches.
She enjoyed going to the beach, her yearly trip to Boothbay to the Flagship Motel with her sisters and friends, sun tanning, and catching an outdoor concert. She was always up for going and getting an ice cream. Edith enjoyed going to the fairs and watching her husband participate in horse pulls. She enjoyed the company of her dogs Pierre and Taz.
She is survived by her daughters Charlene Tikander and her husband Neil of West Paris, and Penny D. Sampson of North Turner; her grandson, Max Tikander; her sister, Susan L. Cox of Turner, her sisters-in-law, Carol Cox of Perkins Valley, Goldie Sampson, and Linda Gauthier and her husband Bob, all of Turner, her brothers-in-law, John Mason and Philip Quirrion, all of Livermore, and Merle Buck, Jr. of Livermore Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Wayne “Skip” Sampson; her brothers Roy, Wesley, Francis, Donald, John, and Merle, and her sisters Eva, Nettie, Sylvia, Irene, and Eleanor.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at North Turner Union Presbyterian Church, 58 Howes Corner Rd., North Turner. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment to follow at Turner Village Cemetery, Church St., Turner. A reception will be held at BQMC immediately following the committal at Turner Village Cemetery.
