WEST PARIS — June! Glorious, June. We will even take the black flies, albeit their ferocity this year. Join us for Sunday worship services at 9:00 a.m., where we can sing praises to the season and our beautiful Maine. All are welcome! The June worship services will be our last until September while we take our summer break. However, you can still attend UU worship services at the First Universalist Society of West Sumner in July and August. See schedule after our June schedule of services.

June 6, “I Celebrate Myself, and Sing Myself” is the theme of this worship service, led by the congregation, which will include a slideshow of photos contributed and described by attendees. It is really a celebration of our lives in Maine, and how it touches us. If anyone wants to share without photos, that is fine, too! (The theme is taken from Walt Whitman’s poem, “Song of Myself”.)

June 13, The Legacy of Juneteenth, led by The Reverend Fayre Stephenson. Juneteenth, until very recent times, has been a little-known holiday for many – especially for Northerners. Join us as we consider the meaning and impact of this joyous holiday.

June 20, Flower Communion Rev. Fayre Stephenson. At this last service of our church year, we’ll tell the story of the origins of the Flower Communion and we will celebrate our own Flower Communion. You are invited to bring flowers from your garden but, don’t worry, if you don’t have a flower garden, there will be plenty of flowers to share.
