Semanda died on April 27, 2021. He was born on May 18, 1974, in Kampala, Uganda, to Nuruh Nakanjako and Ali Mbogo.

He graduated from high school in Uganda, and later graduated from CMCC with a degree in electromechanical technology. Despite a long break in his education, he excelled in college and repeatedly made the dean’s list.

After arriving in the U.S. in 2013, Abdallah settled in Maine and became a beloved member of the community. He was an incredibly hard worker. He worked in a variety of professions, including most recently in the mechanical engineering department at Lepage Bakeries.

Abdallah met his future wife, Kristina Hoch, while both were working at the YWCA. They were married in a beautiful ceremony at Kristina’s childhood home on China Lake in August 2017, surrounded by family and friends from across the country and the world.

February 2018, brought Abdallah and Kristina great joy with the arrival of their son, Kamran, who lit up their lives with his energy, curiosity, and zest for life.

Abdallah had a passion for music, travel, and cheering for his favorite soccer team, Chelsea F.C. He also had a well-known fondness for nice clothes and luxury cars. Abdallah loved people, and people loved him. Friends delighted in his humor, playful nature, and gentle kindness.

Abdallah was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Ahmed Nsanja. He is survived by his wife, Kristina and their son Kamran, mother-in-law, Nancy Woodbrey and husband Ron of Bowdoinham, father-in-law, Scott Hoch of China, sister-in-law, Sarah Hoch-Skilling and husband Rob Skilling of Portland, his four sisters; Aminah Nakabatte, Zam Namanda, Lukia Nassuna, Shamim Nakulima and 11 brothers; Kidda Umar, Abdul Kibudde, Musa Kajoba, Baker Nsubuga, Badru Mpindi, Faisal Ali, Hakim Nsanja, Ibrahim Nsubuga, Abbasi Muluya, Ali Mbogo, Muhammad Sebanakita, his best friend, Bernard Katende, and many other dear friends and extended family members.
