Richard A Bean Sr.

WEST PARIS – Richard A Bean Sr., 88, of West Paris also known as “Beany” went home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Beany was born in Bath, Maine, May 20, 1933. He was a Korean War veteran. Beany was a machinist, an engineer, and an author. He loved writing stories and had some of his stories published. His pen name was “The Backwoods Writer.” His favorite place was his camp on Moosehead Lake. He was an avid outdoors man.

Predeceased by his son, Richard “Rick” Bean Jr. and great-grandson, Cody Bean.

Survived by daughter, Jo-Ann and husband Tim Korhonen, daughter, Judy and husband Scott Lewis, grandchildren, Naomi and Peter Langelier, Robert and Katie Bean, Christopher and Gina Harlow, Tamara Harlow, Sheena and Austin Jordan, Joseph “Joey” Lewis and his companion Rachael, Lindsey and Matt Farley, and Jordan Bean, several great grandchildren and a lifetime of close friends.

There will be a graveside service at the West Paris’ Wayside Cemetery on Sunday, June 6, at 12:30 p.m.
