3. Maurice L. “Bush” Bouchard
LEWISTON – Maurice peacefully passed away on May 22, 2021 at home with his loving wife by his side. He lived a very full life, always taking the opportunity to enjoy every moment.
He was born on August 3rd, 1917 in Rock Island, Quebec. He and his family moved to Vermont in 1922 where he began his 75 yearlong commitment to the community of Concord. He ran Bouchard’s General Store with his father – closing the doors only to turn around and begin his 23 year term as Town Clerk and Treasurer.
His love of racehorses frequently brought him to Lewiston Raceway, where he met Pauline McDonald. They became smitten and married in 2005, reveling in their “second chance love”. During their retirement in Maine together they owned several race horses and enjoyed being members of the Maine Breeders Program. He greatly appreciated the racing industry – maintaining his involvement at fairs and events as long as he was able to.
He is survived by his wife Pauline McDonald, her children Cathy (Paul), Chris (Maria), Mell, and Kevin (Kelli); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count.
He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife Simone; and his two daughters, Janet and Patricia.
He will be missed by so many. Even though he graced this world with his presence for 103 years, it could never be long enough. His family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice and Dr. Sarah Skelton for their compassionate care and assistance in helping keep him comfortable at home.
A celebration of life will be held on June 27.
