Colleen E. Bradbury

LEWISTON – Colleen E. Bradbury died Thursday, June 17, 2021 at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion with her loving daughter by her side. Colleen was born in Lewiston on Oct. 2, 1936, to Arlina Carrier and Antonio McKeone.

Colleen grew up on Lincoln Street along with many of her cousins. She spoke often of the wonderful childhood she shared with her large extended family. St. Mary’s Church was a focal point of Colleen’s young life. She attended the parish school and was married there in 1960 to Milton Bradbury. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1954, and from St. Mary’s General Hospital School for X-Ray Technicians in 1956.

Colleen worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for a number of years but she is most remembered for the decades she spent working in the offices of Dr. Paul Laflamme and then Dr. George Morrissette. She was often stopped at church or in the grocery store by patients and she always graciously responded to their needs or just chatted with them about her beloved Red Sox. Colleen worked hard at everything she did and was very proud of retiring at the age of 75. After her retirement she worked as a volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital.

Colleen was a woman of great faith. She had a devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary every day. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and attended daily Mass at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion Chapel. The priests of the Heralds of the Good News (HGN) often visited her while she was a resident of d’Youville and she would smile from ear to ear whenever one of them came to see her. Their visits brought her great joy!

More than anything in this world Colleen loved her family. She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara Moran and her husband Jim and son, Scott Bradbury and his wife Annette all of Lewiston. She is also survived by four grandchildren whom she adored, Brian Moran, Sean and his wife Renee Moran of Lewiston, Nicole Bradbury and her partner Benjamin Peiffer of Edgewood, Md., and Bethany Bradbury of Jecheon, So. Korea. Colleen was blessed to have one great-grandchild, Foster Peiffer. She also leaves behind a dear friend who was like a sister to her, Pauline Desjardins of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by her parents; her two brothers, Albert McKeone and his wife Elaine, and Daniel McKeone who died as an infant; and a special godson, Daniel J. McKeone who died in February of this year.
