
Albert W. Donovan
AUBURN – Albert W. Donovan, 76, passed away peacefully, June 21, 2021 at Hospice House in Auburn. He was born March 13, 1945 in Lewiston, a son of the late William and Mildred Donovan.
He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1964, where he was a member of the State Champion Blue Devils Hockey team. After a couple of years in the Army as a weapons instructor he worked for Louis Chevrolet in Lewiston and then opened Donovan Motors in Lewiston. Al was an icon in the auto industry for over five decades and his business was his passion.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Mildred Donovan; brother, William Donovan, sister, Cookie Donovan; and his beloved wife Susan Donovan.
He is survived by his sons Randy Donovan and wife Patty, Shawn Donovan and partner, Hillary Skinner; sister, Margaret Donovan, sister, Cindy Harradon and husband Tim Harradon; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Al always had a good joke and a great attitude. His love for cars was unsurpassed and he cared deeply for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life, Saturday, June 26 at 1 p.m. at Donovan’s Used Cars in Greene.
