The National Weather Service has another heat advisory in effect for much of Maine until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The NWS warns that temperatures in the 90s and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

The NWS advises:

• Drink plenty of fluids

• Stay in an air-conditioned room

• Stay out of the sun

* Check up on relatives and neighbors

• Don’t leave children and pets unattended in vehicles

On Wednesday, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and
evening, according to NWS forecasts. Strong winds and heavy rainfall are primary threats from these storms.
