Weary Club

NORWAY — Welcome back to the Members of the Weary Club.  Weary Club Monthly Coffee begins for the summer, Third Saturday of the month June 19, July 17 and August 21, 8-10 a.m. Annual Meeting will be Wednesday, August 4 at Norway Town Office at 2 p.m.

If you are vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask. If you are not vaccinated, please wear a mask. Because of state mandates with social distancing when eating and drinking, coffee and donuts will not be served at the first get-together.

Book sale

WATERFORD — Waterford Library’s Annual Book Sale will be Sunday July 4, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The library is located at 663 Waterford Rd. (Rte 35/37), Waterford, ME 04088. This is a not-to-be-missed extravaganza -–with exceptional bargains for all readers.

NORWAY — The public is invited to a Lobster Roll Lunch, on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St., Norway. This will be a Drive-thru/Take-out lunch and will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu includes Deb and Jane’s famous lobster rolls, chips, brownies and a cold drink. There will be hot dogs available for those who do not eat lobsters. This is a major fundraiser for the church and the cost will be Market Price.
The Second Congregational Church, U.C.C. is an open and affirming congregation. We welcome all to worship, study and join in fellowship with us. Supper

WATERFORD — Tuesday, July 6: The North Waterford Church (Route 35, opposite Melby’s Eatery) will have a drive-through summer supper from 5-6:30 p.m.. All the delights of summer in Maine: barbecued chicken, corn on the cob, cole slaw, cornbread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert, all for $10. All are welcome!
Displays

NORWAY — Visitors may enjoy two new glass case displays at Norway Memorial Library through July and August. Reminisce about the former Main Street Norway landmark, Barjos Restaurant, with some menus loaned from Norway Historical Society. The other one features animals in a summer scene to celebrate this year’s Children’s Summer Reading Program theme, “Tails and Tales” and invites visitors to count the number of tails that they see inside the display case.

Concerts

OXFORD — Anderson Staples American Legion Post #112 of Oxford announces the free summer outdoor concert schedule. On June 29 the Jones Dance Band will perform, and on July 13, it will be the Country Ridge Riders. Both concerts are on Tuesdays and will be from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be available. Please bring your own chairs.
