Gailene Alice (Wagg) Waite
LEWISTON – Gailene Alice (Wagg) Waite, 55, passed away on June 28, 2021, after a long illness.
Gailene was an amazing mom; not only to her own children but to everyone. Her kindness and love was given freely to all who walked through her doors. She loved raising her children and watching them grow. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She lived off the chaos of laughter and love. Gailene also loved the quiet moments with each of her kids – reading, talking, and singing to them. As her own children grew, she continued to enjoy the quiet moments with her grandchildren as well. Gailene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the gospel and her Savior.
She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Wagg; sister, Karlene and Denis Perron; children Arris and Ryan Paine, Aaron Waite, Adam Waite, Andrew Waite, Racheal and TJ Gifford, Joshua and Mary Waite, Jack Waite and Nancy Ouellette, and Jennifer and Scott Barr; grandchildren Morgan, Bryan, Whisper, Vanessa, Lily, Lennon, Kai, Alexis, Delaney, Everest, Cailen, Blaise, Jonah, Landon, Emberlyn, Avalon, Greyson, Ariana, Annalise, Ivy and Bradley; nieces, Jessica and Joshua Burden and Erica and Justin Lafontaine.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
