BETHEL — The Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce has graciously decided to let BAAM take over the Bethel Art Fair and other art-related events. Due to the uncertain times, BAAM has decided not to hold the Bethel Art Fair this year. It may come back in the future; however, we wanted to try something a little different on a smaller scale. Introducing BAAM Art Markets! There will be three throughout the summer and fall.
Saturday, July 10, August 7, and November 27. On Saturday, July 10, the first of the Art Market series will be held at The Philbrook Place, 162 Main Street. There will be around 10-15 local artists displaying and selling their work. Make sure to stop inside The Philbrook Place to check out the works in the Elements Gallery and The Barn Collection. Market hours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We hope to provide a positive space for artists who have been unable to sell work during the pandemic. This has been a hard time for us all so we hope these events will be an opportunity for our community to come together to support local artists. Email [email protected] for more info, or on how to apply as a participant in future markets.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
