OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Historical Society invites you to come and celebrate our 40th anniversary with us this year. Our first program of the summer will be a two part event on July 11. Enjoy our traditional homemade Strawberry Shortcake with handpicked strawberries, homemade whipped cream and biscuits. We have changed our venue this year to an outdoor site under the trees at 202 Scribner Hill Road in Otisfield. A spacious pre-1840 barn is available in case of inclement weather as well as a beautiful view of Mount Washington! There will be the traditional $5 fee for our strawberry shortcake which will be served from 6 -7 p.m. At 7 p.m. we will begin our program – The Life and Letters of Algernon Scribner. Algernon was an Otisfield Civil War Fifer who served in two regiments during the Civil War. Feel free to bring a comfy chair and stay awhile!
