DEAR SUN SPOTS: Please help spread the word to the Edward Little High School Class of 1956. We’re having a mini-reunion at 3 p.m. July 22 at Taber’s. I received a call from a classmate on July 5. He went to Taber’s that day for lunch and noticed that a schedule for the mini-reunions had been posted. Members of the classes of 1955 and 1956 were meeting that night.

If anyone from the Class of 1956 was there, we hope you will join us on July 22. Thank you, Ms. Sun Spots, for the great job that you do. — Betty, Lewiston

DEAR SUN SPOTS: You’ve helped me in the past and I hope you can again. I want to purchase a brand name candle that has a great fragrance when it burns. Sometimes the candle smells good when I buy it, but when I take it home and light it there is hardly any fragrance to it. I hope you or your readers can recommend a brand that has a stronger fragrance when it burns. Any help you can give me will be much appreciated. Thanks for all you do for us. — No name, no town

ANSWER: We all have our favorites so I’ll be interested in how readers respond. I prefer Village Candles (https://www.stonewallkitchen.com/village-candle/villagecandle-fob-landing.html) or Yankee Candles (https://www.stonewallkitchen.com/village-candle/villagecandle-fob-landing.html) and have my personal favorite scents that I use at Christmastime. These are sold online or often found in Bed, Bath, and Beyond and in the bigger grocery stores and department stores. They are more expensive than most candles but have a longer burning time and a consistent fragrance.

If you like burning candles often, you may want to try candles made from soy as they are said to be safer for you. No matter what kind of candles you like though, be sure to use them in a well-ventilated space.
