Sheila A. (Chick) McDonald

WALES – Sheila A. (Chick) McDonald, 75, went home to the Lord on July 13, 2021. She was born November 29, 1945, the daughter of Edward and Rachel (Wing) Chick. She was educated in the Monmouth Schools. Sheila worked at Chick Orchards, Wales Hot Lunch Program, Boothbay Harbor Laundry and Cleaning Service (owned by her brother Elliott), owned, and operated a small doughnut and restaurant in Sabattus, and then ran a daycare at her home until her health declined. Sheila met the love of her life, Blaine H. McDonald, and they were married on July 27, 1963. They became proud parents of two daughters, Tammy, and Lynn, and raised them on their farm in Wales. Sheila loved her family and friends, especially her 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Church meant a lot to her. She attended Wales Presbyterian Church for Several years. She recently has been attending Community Baptist Church in Sabattus. Sheila enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, dancing, shopping, mowing the lawn, flowers, traveling in the RV, and volunteering at the “Homestead” (the church thrift store). She was predeceased by her husband Blaine, her parents, her sister Linda, and her brother Timothy. Sheila is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Burns and husband Mark of Wales and Lynn Pomerleau and husband Marcel of Wales, her 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth and companion Keady, Dalton and wife Cheyenne, Ron, Brandon, and Mariah, 3 great-grandchildren, Ashton, Evelyn, and Emmett, her two sisters, Debbie Bouchard of Lewiston, and Judy Longchamps and husband James of Lewiston, four brothers, Elliott Chick and companion Chris of North Carolina, Steven Chick of Gardiner, Randy Chick and wife Tami of Oxford, Jeff Chick and wife Bethany of Wales, and many nieces and nephews. A Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Community Baptist Church, 9 Main Street, Sabattus, Maine. Interment to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner Street, Auburn, Maine. Arrangements by BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main Street, Monmouth, Maine.
