On July 4th, over 100 runners participated in either the 5 K or 10 K event. The race started and ended at the chamber of commerce building and participants and cheerleaders alike came donning their most patriotic looks. The event was kicked off by a 1/2 mile family fun run event, followed by the 5K and 10k Races. This year, the 10K route included a trip up loon lake road which entailed a challenging hill climb. First place finishers were as follows;
Female 5k: Brittany Tognacci with a race time of 29:41
Male 5k: Miles Logan with a race time of 21:40
Female 10K: Ana Blohm with a Race time of 58:19
Male 10K: Paul Mangiafico with a Race time of 37:49
Kids 5k: Saul Ellis with a race time of 33:01
While MANY came dressed in their best patriotic attire, the winner for the “most patriotically dressed” went to Sully Cook who tipped the voting scales with his festive hat which had an eagle affixed to the top.
A huge thank you goes out to the volunteer, donors, cheerleaders and participants who made this fun event possible. For a list of all the finishers and their race times; visit the Rangeley Health and Wellness website.
