100 Years Ago: 1921

The Twin City Branch of I.S.S. will hold a lawn party Wednesday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. E.H. White of 603 Main street, Lewiston. The society extends a cordial invitation for everyone interested to attend.

50 Years Ago: 1971

A Lewiston boating enthusiast is the author of an article published In the September issue of ‘’Family Houseboating,” a national magazine. She Is Mrs. Pauline Forrest of 53 Middle St., whose family started houseboating in 1970. The story and pictures concern the “warming party” for their first boat. Her husband, Jack Forrest, operates Allied Medical Services.

25 Years Ago: 1996

Al Ibarguen, 54, has been a disc jockey on WKTJ for 26 years. He now owns the radio station built in 1959 by former state Rep. Elden Shute. When he isn’t broadcasting, fixing the transmitter, taking out the garbage or teasing his employees, Al likes to photograph trains and ride the rails. “I’ve pretty much done everything I wanted to do,” he says.
