TURNER — Tim Winchester will perform at a “Music for Mavis” Tuesdays at the Gazebo at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Turner Public Library on Matthews Way.

Winchester is a Maine based singer/songwriter and contemporary folk artist whose music is a careful curation of melody, warmth and dynamic restraint. His songs have been described as “atmospheric” and “an ethereal landscape of storytelling.Æ

He released his first full-length album “Into The Open” in January 2021 — a collection of 13 genre-bending songs aimed at the heart. Co-produced by Winchester and Jason Phelps, “Into The Open” was recorded at Acadia Recording Co. in Portland with distinguished musicians Ellie Begin on cello/piano, Pete Morse on electric guitar, Jason Phelps on bass, and Janice O’Rourke on supporting vocals.
Since releasing the album, Winchester has received growing recognition for his songwriting talents from respectable local outlets including 98.9 WCLZ’s “Music from 207” hosted by Aimsel Ponti and 106.3 The Bone’s “The Greetings From Area Code 207 Radio Hour” hosted by Charlie Gaylord. Tim’s opening track “One of a Kind” was selected as “Maine Song of the Week” by Portland Press Herald’s “Press Play”.
Also, in 2019, Winchester was a finalist in the 21st Annual Great American Song Contest representing the Folk/Americana category for his song “We’re So Lucky”.

Event organizers pass the hat to pay the musicians, the suggested donation is $10. Bring a chair, a blanket, and a friend.
