Antionette (Tempesta) Cantlin
LINCOLN, Mass. – Antoinette (Tempesta) Cantlin, affectionately known by her relatives and friends as “Toni”, a longtime Lincoln, Mass. resident, died peacefully at The Commons in Lincoln, Mass. on July 26, 2021. She lived to see over 100 years and was the beloved wife of the late John H. Cantlin who passed away in 2009. Born in Lewiston on Feb. 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Frateschi) Tempesta. After earning a secretarial degree she met and fell in love with John Cantlin, and the couple were married at St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Dayton, Ohio while John served in the Air Force during WWII. There they started a family and raised three wonderful children – Linda, John and Richard. They also lived in Short Hills, N.J. before settling in Lincoln, Mass. For her entire life, Toni remained steadfast in her catholic faith, as she was a devoted parishioner and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Church in Lincoln. Toni worked at the deCordova Museum until she retired. She was also incredibly gifted in the arts as she enjoyed everything from oil painting to fashion design, floral arrangements and beyond. She enjoyed many other hobbies as well but above all, her family meant everything to her, and she cherished her role as a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be forever missed by her surviving children Linda Goetz and her husband John of Indian Trail, N.C., John Cantlin and his wife Jean of Baltimore, her daughter-in-law, Vicky Cantlin of Northborough, Mass.; six grandchildren, Brian Re and his wife Debbie, Jennifer Drouin and her husband Jacob, Paige Soya and her husband Logan, Lauren Cantlin, Christina Saran and her husband Jeet, and John Cantlin and his wife Samantha; as well as four great-grandchildren, Nick and Alex Re, Jordan Drouin and Darwin Saran.Toni was also the mother of the late Richard Cantlin; grandmother of the late John Henry Cantlin; and sister of the late Albert Tempesta. Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours on Friday, August 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford St., Concord, Mass. Toni’s funeral will be held on Saturday, August 14 starting with a final viewing at 9 a.m. at the Dee Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. across the street in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center, Mass.
