Lucille A. Martineau

LEWISTON – Lucille A. Martineau, 97, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2021, following a brief illness at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family by her side. Lucille was born in Lewiston on June 26, 1924, she was the daughter of Arthur and Claria Asselin Martineau. Educated locally, she attended Acme Business School, and for many years worked in the City of Lewiston Tax Assessor’s Office, retiring in 1977 at the age of 53. Lucille loved family gatherings, crossword puzzles, reminiscing about the past, watching old cowboy movies, gardening, loved cheering on the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood. She was an incredibly kind soul who was always willing to help others any way she could. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by a nephew, Ronald Cote and wife Patricia of Lewiston, a niece, Anita Lemieux and husband Donald of Edgewater, Fla., several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Doris Cote; Carmen Cloutier and Lorraine Martineau. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff that cared for her over the past week at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and a very special recognition to her amazing provider Dr. Vanessa Buotte for the compassionate care she provided to our beloved aunt. Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
