Donna Marie Jude
NORTH PORT, Fla. – Donna Marie Jude, 74, passed away June 16, 2021, in North Port, Flrida. She was born September 21, 1946, a daughter of Robert L. and Olive J. (Stevenson) Palmer.
Donna grew up in Newport and was a graduate of Newport High School. Donna became a young mother to her twin daughters Sherry and Shelly and later to Robert. She raised her family in Kennebunk and held various jobs before beginning her career with the United States Postal Service. Donna was a hard worker who continuously worked her way up the USPS ladder. For many years, she was the Postmaster for the town of Lisbon and took on several leadership roles in the USPS organization. She lead trainings and was a mentor to many other Postmasters. She was a member of the National Association of the Postmasters of the United States and retired from the USPS after over 30 years of service.
Donna enjoyed gardening and doting on her two cats, Jonah and Jesse. She was an active member of the Rotary Club, Lion’s Club and Chamber of Commerce. Donna was married to Rene Albert Jr. and the two resided in Livermore Falls before his passing in 2011. In 2013, she moved to North Port, Florida, where she lived near her daughter, Sherry. While in Florida, she enjoyed playing Bingo and going out to lunch with her girlfriends.
Donna will be remembered for her generousity to others, smile, and complete devotion to her family.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Janice Johnson and Sally Leighton; and her husband Rene Albert Jr..
She is survived by her children, Sherry Jude and her husband Steve Bernier of North Port, Fla., Shelly Jude Wendland and her husband Thor of Cary, N.C., and Robert W. Jude and his wife Sally of Lafayette, Ind.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her sister, Penny Palmer of Newport; her aunt, Vera Stevensen of Newport; several nieces and newphews; and her companion, Elliot Pragen of Port Charlotte.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18 at 11 a.m., at St. Augustine Cemetery, Townsend Road., Augusta, Maine.
