Mystery Photo for Aug. 1, 2021. Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal

We didn’t fool many of the dozens of entries we received for last week’s Mystery Photo of Orphan Annie’s Antiques on Court Street in Auburn. Many of the responses sang praise for the owner of the iconic shop that has been a fixture in downtown Auburn for many years. In a random drawing, Phyllis Deringis of Auburn was picked as the winner of a $20 Hannaford Supermarket gift card. In her entry, she wrote “The Mystery Photo is one of the windows of the well-known antique shop Orphan Annie’s on Court Street in Auburn. The owner, Dan Poulin (a classmate of mine at Lewiston High School many years ago), creates eye-catching displays in the windows of the shop. Reflected in the glass is the Court Street Baptist Church.
