Bernadette “Bunny” Belanger

RUMFORD – Mrs. Bernadette “Bunny” Belanger died suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at Central Maine Medical Center from complications after vascular surgery. She was 82. For over 25 years, she fought numerous health battles with unparalleled courage and grace. Bunny was born in Rumford, Maine on Feb. 11, 1939, the youngest of five daughters, to Noel and Clemence (Legere) LeVasseur .

She was a resident of Maple Street and had lived her entire life in Rumford.

While she worked outside the home in a variety of positions, her most important “jobs” were being a homemaker and a mother. She cherished and celebrated the people in her life – never missing an opportunity to send a handwritten card or a note.

She leaves behind her husband, Maurice Belanger, the love of her life who she married on February 17, 1962. Bunny was dearly loved by her children, Mark Belanger and his wife Lucille of Rumford, Lisa Belanger of Dixfield, and Eric Belanger of Salt Lake City. Other survivors include her sisters, Margaret Deane and Gabrielle LeVasseur of Bangor, and Vivian Roy and her husband James of Dixfield, her grandchildren, Kristin and her husband Ryan Arsenault of Hanover, Evan and his wife Katarina Belanger of Peru, Anna and her husband Duncan Cromwell of Boxford, MA and Emily Chase of Eaton, NH, and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Benjamin, Henry and Natalie.
