Richard E. Baril
LEWISTON – A dearly-loved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Richard E. Baril, 85, of Lewiston, Maine, returned to his heavenly home on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, with his family by his side.
Richard was born on Feb. 2, 1936, to the late Annette Ashton and Ralph Baril.
A graduate of Edward Little High School, Richard also proudly served in the United States Army. He was an associate pastor and proudly worked at Central Maine Power for 45 years as a substation technician. He was the most loving, compassionate, and humble man who loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Richard was known as a prayer warrior in his community church.
Richard was an educator at heart. He was kind and soft-spoken, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem no matter how big or small. When you shook his hand, you knew
you were in the presence of a friend and a strong one at that. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Richard was blessed with a large and loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeanne, of Lewiston; seven children, Beth, John (Tina), Donna (Tim), Jeff, Joline (John), Mark, Susan (Jason); 18 grandchildren, Alicia, Joshua, Zackary, Brandon, Gabrielle, Karissa, Jenna, Kyle, Ashley, Kendra, Kelsey, Kolin, Nathan, Jacob, Olivia, Caroline, Kassidy, and Rachel; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, David, Charlie (Nancy) and sisters, Brenda and Judy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annette Ashton and Ralph Baril.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday Aug. 13, 2021, at East Auburn Baptist Church Auburn Maine. A private burial will follow.
