Friends of the Rumford Public Library plans to hold its annual book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in the library’s public room at 56 Rumford Ave.

The cost of the adult books will be by donation, and shoppers will be in charge of book prices.

The organization will provide backpacks for children to fill. Any child 12 and younger can pick out a backpack and fill it with free books.

Proceeds from the book sale, along with other funds the group raises, support the library by funding unbudgeted programs, events and items.
