Rosemary Knee Belanger
NORWAY – Rosemary Knee Belanger, peacefully passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at her residence in Norway. She was born the first child to James and Audrey Knee on Oct. 31, 1940. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Belanger. She is survived by her son, Lance Belanger, her son, Jon Belanger and companion Shellie Paradis; her son, Mark Belanger; and three grandchildren, Brooks Belanger, Libby Belanger, and Trevor Belanger. She was predeceased by her sister, Suzanne Cordwell. Born in Concord, New Hampshire, and raised primarily in Millettville in Norway, Rose graduated from Norway High School in 1959, where she participated in women’s Basketball, and once saw Louis Armstrong perform live at Old Orchard Beach. Following graduation from High School, Rose was employed at the J.J. Newberry lunch counter, and the Norway Shoe Shop. Upon marrying Thomas in 1964, Rose and Tom settled and raised their family in the Connecticut cities of Seymour and Ansonia, where Rose held down various occupations in the manufacturing and service sectors. Rose and Tom moved their family back to Maine in 1976, and eventually settled in Norway from 1980 to the present, where Rose was employed many years at Pioneer Plastics in Auburn before retiring with Hannafords in Oxford in 2005.Rose had a passion for gardening, caring for her parents, and being on the go, whether it was housework, errands, or spontaneous visits to friends and family. Rose was very connected to her beloved classmates of the Norway High School Class of 1959 and was very involved in raising and following the lives of her grandchildren, whom she adored with utmost devotion. Rose will be remembered as a fiercely devoted wife, mother, and grandparent. Rose had a good sense of humor, like to converse with her many friends, enjoyed many good times camping and going to the beach, liked playing various apps on her iPad, and connecting with friends on Facebook. Rose will always be remembered as an amazingly sweet lady, and known for always having a bright, vivacious, and fun spirit. She was blessed by the enduring and patient care of her sons, Lance, Jon, and Mark. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday September 4, at the Highland Cemetery, in West Poland, Maine. A life celebration will be held at a later date.
