NORWAY — The Western Maine Art Group continues its summer season with a First Friday Reception on September 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. The reception will be held at the Main Street Gallery, 426 Main Street, in Norway. In addition, the “Then and Now” exhibit at the Matolcsy Art Center, 480 Main Street, will be open. These galleries exhibit the work of fine artists and artisans living and working in Western Maine.
Featured artist of the month at Main Street Gallery is Erica Christensen. Erica will be displaying original watercolors, giclee prints, and notecards. Flowers, wading birds, and landscapes are favorite subjects.
Erica lives in Turner, loves to travel, walk both beaches and woods trails, and garden, both flowers and vegetables. All of those interests are places to find interesting subjects to paint!
The Main Street Gallery is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 to 5, and Saturdays from 10 to 2.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
