Frederic B. Campbell

SUMNER – Frederic B. Campbell, 78, husband of the late Joan (Eastman) Campbell, died at his residence in Sumner, Maine, on Friday, August 13, 2021. He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 23, 1943, the son of Grover and Stella (Chorzempa) Campbell.

Fred owned and operated Twin Town Glass in the Norway and Farmington location for many years before his retirement. Work and his interest in cars and the lodge were his hobbies.

Those that knew Fred knew how much he loved his antique cars, especially his two 1950 Studebakers. One was even a car used in the television show, Happy Days. He was an active member of the Granite Lodge #182. He was very proud of the work he did leading the Child Identification program for years. At one time he held the honor of Grand Marshall and District Deputy of the 20th Mason district. He was also a Shriner and lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Fred and Joan travelled a lot in their younger days attending many work conventions.

Fred is survived by two sons, Bruce Campbell and his wife Tara of Norway, and Ricky Kangas and his wife Donna of Buckfield, two daughters, Dianne Slicer and her husband Shane of Waterford, and Darlene Lavoie and her husban Joseph, of Harrison; one sister Julie Colangelo and her husband Mike of Florida. He had 12 grandchildren, Whitney Hutchinson of Gray, Staci Beal of Lisbon, Josh Kangas of Hebron, Justin Kangas of Rockland, Casey Kangas of Lewiston, Brandon Campbell and Katelyn Campbell both of Norway, Blake Slicer of Bangor, Cameron Slicer and Allison Slicer both of Waterford, Christopher Henderson of Freeport and Mark Henderson of Old Orchard Beach. Fred had eight great- grandchildren, Conrad Hutchinson of Gray, Logan Beal of Lisbon, Avery Kate Beal of Lisbon, Autumn Joan Kangas of Hebron, Maya Kangas and Quinn Kangas of Rockland, Carter Henderson of Freeport and Carley Henderson of Freeport.

He was predeceased by one son Stephen Kangas; and one sister Victoria Weimer.

A celebration of life will be held Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Oxford Masonic Hall in Norway ,Maine.
