Beverly Smith Glines
NORWAY – Beverly Smith Glines made her journey to her “Mansion over the hilltop” to meet her Lord Jesus on August 21, 2021, with her daughter, Jaci, by her side. She was greeted by her loving husband Bob, her sister Betty, along with many family members and friends.
Bev was a proud member of the West Paris Alumni Association and attended South Paris Baptist Church and Grace Fellowship Church. As the founder of the Christian Women United group, she brought many women together in different communities across Maine. Her fantastic work ethic began when she was a phone operator at the Norway Telephone Company. She worked at the ESSO/EXXON station for many years that she owned with her husband Bob in Norway, Maine. Bev wore many hats at the station, including secretary, treasurer, gas attendant and even a Mickey Mouse costume which she thoroughly enjoyed!
Her hobbies included painting, trips to the Concord Hotel in the Catskills and bus tours to NYC with her family, as well as visiting sunny beaches. Beverly also enjoyed spending summers with her family at their camp in Bryant Pond which her father built. The fond memories and smells of her famous, yummy biscuits, perfect gravy, Nissu bread, home made chocolates and Mickey Mouse pancakes will go down in history!
Bev is survived by her daughters, Lori McDaniels and Jaci Presby and her husband Tim; by her handsome grandsons, Ryan Lorrain and his fiancé Becky, Nick McDaniels and his girlfriend Samantha, and Luke McDaniels and his girlfriend Tasha, and by her beautiful granddaughter, Shania Presby and her boyfriend Alex.
Family and friends are welcome to gather in celebration of Beverly’s life for visiting hours and the funeral service at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St, Oxford, ME 04270.
