OXFORD — The Oxford County 4-H Extension Office will be offering the following workshops at no charge to the public:
Mr. Drew & His Animals Too
Friday, September 17, 3-6 p.m. at the Oxford County Fair, 4-H Exhibit Hall.
Oxford County 4-H will be hosting Mr. Drew and some of the exotic creatures he’s rescued. This will be an up-close and hands-on learning experience! ‘Mr. Drew and His Animals Too’ is a natural science and exotic animal rescue and rehabilitation center in Lewiston.
Dog Workshop!
Sunday, September 19, 2-3 p.m. at the Oxford County Cooperative Extension Office
Many Oxford County youth and families have added dogs to their homes over this past year and a half! Due to the multitude of requests for a dog club, we decided to start by trying a dog workshop! We will have to have a certified trainer come to this session, work with dogs and families, and practice some obedience training!
This workshop is open to youth ages 8-14 (with parents) and for dogs 6 months and up. Further details (including vaccination requirements) can be found on the registration page.
**If there is interest in joining a dog club, we ask that you stay after the meeting to discuss working with other families to make this happen. Please register online by 9/10 – https://extension.umaine.edu/register/product/4-h-dog-workshop/

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
