Ben Weisner, a senior grand warden at the New Gloucester Grand Lodge, uses a ceremonial level on Saturday to confirm that the cornerstone for the new Lewiston fire station on North Temple Street is level. On the right, Grand Master Richard Nadeau looks on. Other lodge members confirmed that it was square and plumb. Later the cornerstone was consecrated with corn, wine and oil, all of which are Masonic symbols of prosperity, health and peace. The new station replaces one on Sabattus street that was built in 1947. Andree Kehn/Sun Journal
