ANDOVER — An early afternoon fire Sunday destroyed a farmhouse on Wyman Hill Road that had been undergoing renovations, a fire official said.
No injuries were reported.
Fire Chief Jim Adler said Tuesday that firefighters had the flames knocked down in about an hour.
A tractor parked in front of the home by the owner also burned, he said.
The home had not been occupied during the renovation, he said.
The Maine Office of State Fire Marshal is continuing its investigation, but hasn’t determined a cause or area in the house where the fire started, Adler said.
The fire is not considered to be suspicious, the chief said.
He estimated the value of the building at around $100,000; the tractor, about $20,000.
Andover Fire Department was aided on scene by departments from Rumford, Mexico, Roxbury, Dixfield, Peru, Newry and Bethel, largely providing help with shuttling water and manpower, he said.
