Patricia Farwell

RUMFORD – Mrs. Patricia Farwell, 67, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at the Rumford Hospital. She was a resident of Hall Hill in Rumford.

Born in Bridgton on Oct. 8, 1953, she was the daughter of Wallace and Rosalie (Smart) Edwards. She was a graduate of Oxford Hills High School and worked as a boiler operator for Nine Dragons Paper Mill (formerly Boise Cascade) in Rumford. She was the first female licensed boiler operator in the state of Maine. Prior to that, she worked at J.L. Coombs shoe factory in Phillips where she managed production.

Pat, or Grammy Pat – “GP”, as she was often called – loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, enjoying yummy food, being near the ocean, taking care of her beloved pets and creating enjoyable experiences for the people that she loved.

Patricia was married in Rumford on Oct. 8, 1994, to Douglas Farwell who survives, of Rumford. Other survivors include her daughter Micha Sabovik and husband Michael of Arlington, Mass., her son, Michael “Cubby” Abbott, wife Jennifer of Rangeley; and grandchildren Tori and Mason. She is additionally survived by her brothers Glenn Edwards and wife Rachel of Sebago and Mark Edwards of Harrison, her sister, Debbie Baroudi and husband Terry of Sebago.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in the East Rumford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
