Renaud J. Blais
LEWISTON – Renaud J. Blais, 86, of Lewiston passes away unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021 at Central Maine Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Collins) Blais who died on June 7, 2000.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 2, 1934, a son of the late Odia and Annette (Bisson) Blais. He married the love of his life in June 1970, whom he missed every day since her death.
“Reno” as he was known worked most of his life in manufacturing in local shoe shops. He was in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Lewiston his entire life and was a devoted Catholic attending St. Peters Church.
Reno enjoyed watching old movies, including westerns and especially Gunsmoke. He was an avid sports fan of all the New England teams. If you asked him what he wanted to eat, the answer would be either a pizza or a burger.
He is survived by his three stepchildren, Susan Paquette of Boothbay Harbor and her children Vickie, Paul and Ginger; Raymond Paquette and his wife Joel of New Milford, Conn. and their children Sarah and Eliza; and Gary Paquette and his wife Tammy of Greene, and their children Ashley and Brandon. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece, Sandy LaPointe and her husband Joseph of Sabattus who acted as his caregiver for a year and a half.
He was predeceased by his sister, Gloria in 2015.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. at the mausoleum in St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Rd. Lewiston.
