OXFORD — A man reported missing from his home on Tiger Hill Road was found safe Thursday evening by a Maine Warden Service K-9, according to Mark Latti, communications director for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Thomas Cushman, 80, left his residence about 10:30 a.m. to survey his property lines but had not returned by about 3 p.m., Latti said in a statement. His family called 911.
Cushman has early onset dementia, according to the news release.
Members of the Oxford Police Department, Oxford County Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police began searching about 3:30 p.m., with Warden Michael Latti and K-9 Luna, and state police Trooper Adam Fillebrown and K-9 Aros looking behind Cushman’s house.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Luna picked up a scent and while tracking down an old woods road started barking to indicate she had located someone.
Latti and Fillebrown found Cushman sitting on a rock with Luna beside him. The officers assisted Cushman out of the woods, where he was examined by emergency medical personnel and reunited with his family.
