LEWISTON — An investigation is continuing into who left a “suspicious” handwritten note at the high school Thursday morning, Superintendent Jake Lanlais said.
The note was discovered in a stall of a girls bathroom and was reported by a student.
Police officers were at the scene all day, but did not lock down the school. Students were not dismissed, according to a media statement.
“The day ran smoothly,” Superintendent Jake Langlais wrote in a late-afternoon update.
He said the handwriting was unique and was being analyzed in the hopes of identifying the student.
As of late Thursday afternoon, investigators were unable to identify the student.
He declined to provide further details about the nature of the note Thursday evening, citing the ongoing investigation.
