A Dar Williams concert is set for 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Stone Mountain Arts Center, 695 Dugway Road in Brownfield.
At the core of Williams’ work is a belief in the innate ability of people to make a better world, the product of countless observations in her travels and conversations with her fans. She writes about it, sings about it and will make you feel good about it. Adding to her resume these days, she has been on the lecture circuit, speaking about anything from music to politics and most importantly, the towns we live in.
Drawing from her most recent book, “What I Found in a Thousand Towns: A Traveling Musician’s Guide to Rebuilding America’s Communities-One Coffee Shop, Dog Run, and Open-Mike Night at a Time,” she will always have something brilliant to say and to sing. She is a delight on stage and we are delighted to have her back! Always reflective, a perfect artist for a perfect fall.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
