LEWISTON –
Colette Micheline (Bergeron) Cote, 74, of Lewiston, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. She was born April 14, 1947, in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, to Emeril and Irene (Verville) Bergeron.
She was born into a devout Catholic family, the oldest of two children. She attended St. Felix primary school and later graduated from St. Michael’s Academy. After graduation, Colette moved to Lewiston, Maine where she met and then married Bertrand Roland Cote, of Auburn on November 8, 1969.
Colette spent many years living and working in the Lewiston/Auburn area. She worked at the Bates Mill, then Geiger Brothers, took a break to raise her boys, and returned to the workplace at the Sun Journal where she later retired from. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and attended mass weekly until she no longer could.
Many people knew and loved Colette, especially her dry and witty humor. She enjoyed cooking for and spend
ing time with family, shopping and dining out. She also loved to travel, especially to visit family in Canada, and spending winter months in Florida with Roland in her later years.
Colette is survived by her husband of 51 years, Roland; her oldest son, Daryl Cote, wife Mary, and granddaughters Anna and Fiancee Levi Hooper and Amy Cote; her youngest son, Jeff Cote, fiancée Crystal Robinson and grandson, Lucas Cote. She is also survived by her younger brother, Andre Bergeron and wife Linda Labrie, nieces, a grandnephew and grandnieces.
The Cote Family would like to thank the dedicated nursing and support staff at d’Youville Pavilion and Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Colette’s name to Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice15 Strawberry Avenue Lewiston Maine.
Visitation will be held Friday October 1st 2-4 and 6-8 and an in house service will be held Saturday October 2nd at noon at The Fortin Group 70 Horton st. Lewiston.
