William J. Russo

DIXFIELD – Mr. William J. Russo, 75, died Tuesday Aug. 24, 2021, at his residence on Third Street in Dixfield. Born in Lynn, Mass., on Sept. 20, 1945, he was a son of Joseph and Mary (McCadden) Russo. He was a Vietnam veteran, retired groundskeeper and a member of the NRA. He loved fishing, hunting, target shooting, his kitty, Oreo, football and above all, the New England Patriots. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Russo-Bates and husband Robert Bates Jr., of Dixfield, a sister, Rosemary Curtain and husband Warren of Litchfield, N.H., a niece, her husband and their two children. Graveside services will be held 12 p.m., noon, Wednesday Oct. 6, 2021, Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Ave., Augusta, Maine. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3-5 p.m., at the Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
