Special attractions for the day include reduced prices for the prime rib of beef and filet mignon plates. Lionel Anctil, general manager of the Steer House said. “Besides totally enlarging the banquets and meeting rooms, we’ve also redecorated our present dining room.” He feels that the new banquet hall, the Ponderosa, is “probably the best decorated room in the Twin Cities.” The Ponderosa can also be divided into two or three other separate rooms. About 160 Boy Scouts and their leaders from the Abnaki District set up tents on the Oxford County Fairgrounds in Norway at the   fairgrounds this weekend for their annual Fall Jamboree. The fair association does not charge the Scouts for use of the fairgrounds,” said Activities Committee member Diane Demers from Minot. “As a thank-you, we cleaned up the grounds of the trash left behind from the fair last week. This year’s theme was “Communications: Past, Present, and Future.” On Saturday, the Scouts learned about using citizens band and ham radios, learned about the internet,  saw a demonstration by United States Cellular, got a tour of WMTW-TV Channel 8’s mobile unit, and saw a slide presentation by Channel 8 meteorologist Marty Engstrom.
